What are the Elements of a Medical Malpractice Claim?

On May 6, 2013, a Sound Transit bus ran through a red light in Kirkland, smashing into a Ford Escape. The smaller vehicle had three passengers, two of whom did not survive the crash. No one on the bus was harmed.

Following a thorough investigation, the Washington State Patrol is asking the King County Prosecutor’s Office to file criminal charges of vehicular homicide and hit and run against the driver of the bus. Investigators found no evidence of vehicle malfunction, suggesting this accident was a result of driver error.

Wrongful Death

Criminal charges are often pressed after accidents that result in death, though they do not have to be for family members to seek compensation for their loss.
