Vehicle Recalls Ring In The New Year

By January 15, 2015February 9th, 2017Product Liability

The first five days of 2015 have seen recalls issued by both GM and Volkswagen. GM expanded its recall of defective vehicles on the 1st to include 85,000 model year 2011 and 2012 SUVs and trucks. Volkswagen’s recall includes nearly 38,000 model year 2014 and 2015 vehicles that may have leaky sealing caps – a defect which could increase risks for fire.

Recalls were issued nearly every week in 2014 – many following accidents that resulted in serious and even fatal injury. If the first week of 2015 is any indication, frequent recalls can once again be expected. It is important to open any mail that comes from the manufacturer of your vehicle to quickly learn if your vehicle is among the growing ranks of those recalled.

When you are injured or a loved one is killed by a defective vehicle, you have every right to hold the negligent manufacturer accountable – even if a recall has been issued. However, without an experienced attorney on your side, getting fair compensation may prove very difficult. The Bellevue personal injury attorneys at the Hornbuckle Firm are here to take your case and fight for the full compensation you deserve.
