Fatal Rollover Accident On State Route 2

By August 10, 2015February 9th, 2017Car Accidents

A 40-year-old mother of two lost her life in a single-vehicle SUV rollover accident on August 6th. The children, an eight and six-year-old, were also in the vehicle at the time of the accident but did not sustain fatal injury. The children were taken to Confluence Health in Wenatchee for medical treatment.

SUV rollovers are the leading cause of fatal single-vehicle accidents. Sadly, many of these accidents could be prevented if auto manufacturers took more time in the design and building of top-heavy vehicles. Even with electronic stability control, a feature on most newer-model SUVs, rollovers are far from uncommon. In this most recent accident the rollover was caused by a simple avoidance maneuver when the victim swerved to miss a tire that had fallen off of a trailer in front of her car.
